As we reach the end of the year, I want to take a moment to say thank you truly.

Thank you for being part of this community, and for allowing us to walk alongside you in your healing this year.

Whether you visited the clinic for physical pain, emotional overwhelm, or simply to reconnect with yourself, we’ve witnessed quiet, powerful moments of change, and we don’t take that for granted. It’s an honour to do this work.

The clinic will be closed from 23rd December – 5th January to give us space to rest, recharge, and return in the new year with fresh energy.

A note for this season

I also want to gently acknowledge something else.

The holidays aren’t always easy. Not everyone has a table full of family or a perfectly lit tree. The reality is, for many, this season brings up feelings of loneliness, grief, uncertainty or reflection.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this month:

“I just want to hibernate.”

“I don’t want to go out, I just want to stay under my blanket.”

“Is it selfish or anti-social to want to do… nothing?”

You’re not selfish. You’re not anti-social. You’re a human being, listening to what nature is gently nudging you towards.

This time of year calls us inward.

The energy is lower for a reason. it’s a natural invitation to rest, reflect, and restore your reserves. Not everything needs to be festive or productive. You’re allowed to follow the pull to pause.

In Chinese Medicine, winter is the season where Yang energy begins its return quietly, deep at the root. It may still feel like nothing is moving on the surface, but the first stirrings of change are already beginning.

This is also when the Gallbladder meridian becomes more active, the channel linked to clarity, direction, decision-making, and the courage to take the next step. It’s no wonder that so many people find themselves reflecting on their year… or their life.

If you’re sitting with big feelings, or facing crossroads you’re moving with the natural rules of the season, so allow yourself some space to sit there.

Here are a few gentle ways to support yourself:

Sit with the pause, not the pressure. The answers may not come all at once, but honouring the space makes room for clarity to arise.

Breath and movement along the Gallbladder channel (the sides of the body, outer legs and shoulders) can help release indecision and stagnation. Stretch and a nice brisk walk will help if you’re feeling stuck with feelings or irritations.

Reflect, don’t resolve. You don’t need to have all the answers now, the ideas will percolate now and grow in spring. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is listen inward and take just the next step.

Here are a few simple practices you might find supportive:

Warmth is medicine swap cold raw foods for slow-cooked meals, soups, stews. Keep your lower back warm (a scarf around your waist works wonders).

Rest is not indulgent it’s essential. Go to bed early. Honour the darker evenings.

Journal, reflect, feel. Many people naturally do a “year in review” at this time. If it’s helpful, ask yourself: What do I want to carry forward? And what am I ready to release?

Whether you’re looking to start fresh, shift something long-standing, or simply take the next small step, we’d love to walk alongside you in 2026.

Appointments for January are now open. Let’s make this the year of aligned action.

Warmest Wishes
